Saudi Arabia has achieved third place globally in the development of advanced artificial intelligence models and in the growth of AI-related jobs, according to a new report from Stanford University’s Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. The ranking shows the Kingdom’s fast rise as a global leader in modern technology.

The report also places Saudi Arabia second in the world for progress in language models, behind only the United States and China. The country ranks third in AI job growth, just behind India and Brazil. Companies in the Kingdom are hiring more people with AI skills, and the technology sector is growing.

Under Vision 2030, the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA) is leading efforts to make the Kingdom a global center for digital innovation. Saudi Arabia now ranks among the top 10 countries in AI on several measures.

The Kingdom has built advanced systems like ALLaM, one of the most powerful Arabic-language generative AI models. It has also created more jobs in AI and related fields.

Saudi Arabia scored well in attracting global talent, ranking seventh worldwide due to its supportive technology environment and strong regulations. It also ranked eighth in public awareness of AI and in scientific research citations, showing increased interest and knowledge across society.

Initiatives such as the “SAMAI” programme, which aims to train one million Saudis in AI skills, play a major role in building public capability. Many citizens are joining training programmes to learn AI and digital skills.

These achievements show Saudi Arabia’s growing role in global AI. They also help Vision 2030 build a strong digital economy and improve the Kingdom’s global position.
