Background-

Citi and Arab Bank have joined forces to give corporate clients round-the-clock access to US dollar clearing, opening the door to quicker and safer cross-border payments through Arab Bank’s footprint.

Under the arrangement, Arab Bank will draw on Citi’s 24/7 USD Clearing platform to serve corporate customers at chosen branches. Citi’s worldwide infrastructure will back real-time trade and smooth liquidity management.

The launch grows out of a long-standing relationship that already spans USD clearing, liquidity management, and trade and working capital solutions across multiple Arab Bank entities and regions. Citi Services delivers these through one connected global network.

Citi’s reach joins Arab Bank’s regional strength, including subsidiaries in Dubai, Singapore, London, Paris and Manama. Together, they give clients entry to an always-open USD payments network that follows local and international rules.

Emre Umut, Citi’s head of FI sales for the Middle East and Africa, said expanding trade routes and digital operations make speed, transparency and innovation more valuable for companies and financial institutions. He said the partnership pairs Citi’s scale with Arab Bank’s local knowledge to deliver real-time, borderless services.

Maram Al-Jazireh, Arab Bank’s global head of FI and sustainability, said the bank keeps clients and lasting relationships at the center of its work, and the tie-up gives customers access to advanced payment tools.

Citi’s service runs with more than 300 financial institutions in over 50 markets, and it helps Middle Eastern banks stay linked to global markets through weekends.
