Key Background:
The Riyadh Municipality has unveiled a range of new investment opportunities aimed at stimulating the city’s economic development across multiple sectors. The 2025 initiatives encompass commercial, residential, retail, industrial, and leisure projects, reflecting the municipality’s broader strategy to foster urban growth and diversify the economy.
A total of 20 new investment projects, spanning more than 175,000 square meters across 20 sites, have been introduced. These include mixed-use developments, retail spaces, mobile sports clubs, and dedicated areas for concrete and construction material factories, in addition to café and ATM setups. These ventures are designed to attract both local and international investors.
The municipality’s Furas online platform will serve as the primary gateway for accessing these opportunities. Furas is an innovative platform that facilitates the engagement of investors in real estate and municipal ventures, streamlining the application and bidding process. This initiative is part of Riyadh’s broader effort to accelerate private sector involvement in urban development, in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. By encouraging private investments, the municipality seeks to enhance urban infrastructure and services, contributing to improved living standards across the city.
Contracts for the new investment sites range from five to 25 years, covering key districts such as Jarir, Al-Deerah, Al-Rawdah, Al-Basateen, and others. Investors can review competition requirements and application details through a dedicated platform, with the bid opening scheduled for May 2025.
In parallel, Riyadh has made significant strides in enhancing urban livability, inaugurating 87 new parks over the last three years. This initiative has expanded the city’s green space, benefiting communities with more accessible recreational areas while advancing the sustainability goals of Vision 2030. These investments underscore Riyadh’s commitment to fostering a vibrant, sustainable urban environment.
