Axens Deepens Partnership with Egyptian Refining Company

Background 

Axens has bolstered the partnership between itself and the Egyptian Refining Company through a long-term agreement aimed at enhancing refinery efficiency, digitization, and product availability. 

The partnership entails the provision by Axens of its range of technologies, equipment, catalysts, and services that meet the operational, economical, and sustainable needs of ERC. The company will provide its expertise through the entire lifecycle of refining projects through studies, engineering, start-up, optimization, and technical services for the long term. 

Egyptian Refining Company is one of Egypt’s top refineries in Greater Cairo that produces cleaner fuel in addition to ensuring energy security in the country. 

The expanded partnership aims to enhance operational reliability, efficiency and environmental performance by combining Axens’s technology solutions with ERC’s refining capabilities. Both companies said the agreement reflected their shared commitment to innovation, sustainable growth and maximising refinery value. 

Quentin Debuisschert, chief executive officer and chairman of Axens, said the long-term agreement marked an important milestone in the relationship between the two companies. He added that it reflected the company’s ability to support customers beyond technology licensing, through a fully integrated offering combining process and catalyst technologies, services, digital solutions and operational expertise. He said Axens remained committed to supporting ERC’s ambitions in operational excellence, digital transformation and sustainability. 

Dr Mohamed Saad, president of ERC, said the company valued its strong partnership with Axens and the confidence the agreement brought for the future. He added that the collaboration would help enhance refinery performance and deliver high-quality products to support Egypt’s energy needs.
