Background
Nile TV International has kicked off a fresh chapter, rolling out a new editorial approach, a wider programming slate and a digital transformation plan meant to strengthen its role as Egypt’s international broadcaster reaching English and French speaking audiences.
Chairwoman Dina Osman said this marks the opening stage of a larger institutional overhaul centered on building stronger editorial operations, investing in talent and carrying Egypt’s voice to viewers around the world.
The channel keeps its Nile TV International name but takes on a new look built around the colours of the Egyptian flag. Original daily content has grown from about six hours to over 15 hours, bringing in news bulletins, current affairs coverage and fresh programmes on politics, business, culture, tourism, Arab affairs and African affairs.
Among the additions is a business show called “Market Insights,” joined by English and French religious programmes centered on moderate Islamic values. Behind the scenes, the broadcaster has rebuilt its newsroom structure, rolled out new editorial workflows and stood up a dedicated Digital Media and Archiving Department.
Looking ahead, the next stage of the transformation will bring a new website, live streaming capability and a stronger social media footprint for the channel.
Separately, Egypt’s presidency said President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi checked in on progress digitising the country’s state radio and television archives, covering plans for the Maspero Platform and upgrades to broadcasting infrastructure meant to preserve and widen access to Egypt’s media content.
