Background-

Egypt’s Ministry of Military Production has signed two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to boost joint manufacturing and push Egyptian products into African markets.

Minister of State for Military Production Salah Gomblat witnessed the signing of the first MoU between the National Organization for Military Production (NOMP) and Arab Contractors, and a second deal that adds Masar for Consulting and Business Development.

The agreements support the ministry’s drive to work with national companies, combine industrial and engineering strengths, deepen local manufacturing and win new markets, especially in Africa.

Gomblat said the deals show the ministry’s commitment to linking state institutions with national firms and raising the added value of Egyptian goods. He said Military Production keeps widening its partnerships with public and private sectors to support national industry and competitiveness.

Arab Contractors Chairperson Ahmed El-Assar said his company wants to deepen cooperation and make the most of the skills both sides hold. The Masar founder said the partnership marks an important step for local manufacturing.

The first MoU brings Helwan Diesel Engines Company, Military Factory 909 and Arab Contractors together to carry out projects and build products jointly. It covers Helwan Diesel’s range, including power generators, electrical distribution panels, security barrier gates and engine overhauls.

The second MoU expands industrial and marketing cooperation between NOMP and African countries, opening new export routes for Egyptian products. It covers joint manufacturing, technology transfer, services, expertise exchange and human-capacity building, supporting Egypt Vision 2030.
