Background
The Democratic Republic of Congo has rolled out a national ad campaign in the United States, showing itself as an investor-friendly place for Americans who want to lock in profitable investments.
This campaign has been dubbed “Invest in the DRC” and entails top-ranking government representatives delivering their messages directly to the people of America through TV and online ads on various channels throughout 2026.
DRC Ambassador to the United States Yvette Kapinga Ngandu said the FIFA World Cup, where the DRC Leopards are competing on American soil, presents an ideal moment to reach US audiences. She said the campaign gives the country a direct line to American investors at exactly the right time, adding that the DRC is ready to do business and open to deeper partnerships.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen commercial ties between the two countries by encouraging investment across key sectors of the Congolese economy. Freddy Shembo, head of APCSC, the agency leading US-DRC investment promotion efforts, said the campaign reflects how close and collaborative the bilateral relationship has become, while also telling the Congolese story to a wider audience.
The campaign runs throughout 2026 and aims to present the DRC as a rapidly evolving economy backed by government efforts to promote stability, long-term growth, and international partnership.
